The DStv Stream app will now come pre-installed on new Samsung Smart TVs sold across 18 African markets.
The move takes advantage of Samsung’s strong presence in the television market, with the company remaining the world’s largest TV manufacturer.
Samsung TV users will find DStv Stream ready to use from the home screen, alongside popular apps such as Netflix and YouTube.
With DStv Stream already available on supported TVs, users can jump straight into their favourite content from the moment they set up their device.
The update took effect in June 2026 and includes key markets such as South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Angola, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Netflix has long had its app pre-installed on smart TVs, making it easier for people to start watching.
Canal+, which took over MultiChoice in 2025, described the development as a “significant milestone” and said improving the “accessibility and discoverability” of content on connected devices remains a key focus as viewing habits continue to evolve across the continent.
