Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has highlighted the differences in expectations between clubs, following his side’s goalless draw with Hearts of Oak on Matchweek 30 of the Ghana Premier League.
On March 1, Zito, then coach of Dreams FC, led them to a 1-0 victory over Hearts at the University of Ghana Stadium. However, now at the helm of Kotoko, he had to settle for a 0-0 draw against the same opponent on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Having recently taken over at Kotoko after leaving Dreams FC, Zito noted the increased pressure and expectations that come with coaching a club of Kotoko’s stature.
“The pedigree of Hearts of Oak and Kotoko is different from Dreams FC,” he said.
“Losing to Hearts would affect me more as coach of Kotoko than it would have with Dreams.”
Asante Kotoko currently sit 4th on the league table, while Hearts of Oak are in 6th place with 46 points.
