Severe Gridlock on Accra-Tema Motorway After Tipper Truck Overturns
A major traffic jam has brought the Accra-Tema Motorway to a standstill after a tipper truck loaded with stones overturned, spilling its load across multiple lanes.
The incident occurred in the middle of the motorway, between the 18 Junction and 1st Signboard area, causing a complete blockage of traffic in both directions. As of now, commuters have been stuck in gridlock for over an hour, with vehicles moving at a crawl or not at all.
Frustration is growing among stranded private and commercial drivers, as emergency services have yet to arrive, and no police personnel have been spotted on site to manage the chaos or redirect traffic.
Many motorists have expressed concern over the slow emergency response, which has worsened the already critical congestion.
Drivers are strongly advised to avoid the affected stretch of the motorway and consider using alternative routes to minimize travel delays.
