President John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), will launch the 24-Hour Economy policy on July 1, 2025. This date coincides with Republic Day.
The launch is a key step in fulfilling a major campaign promise. The goal is to transform Ghana’s economy by promoting continuous productivity. This will happen across important sectors, both day and night.
The initiative aims to create more jobs and improve efficiency. It will also boost national output through shift-based systems in public and private enterprises. Industries like manufacturing, healthcare, retail, transport, hospitality, and essential services will be affected.
The Information Services Department (ISD) confirmed the launch details. The policy focuses on innovation, technology, and investment in energy and security infrastructure. These elements are crucial for supporting round-the-clock economic activity.
President Mahama believes this policy will change job creation and national development. He highlights its potential to reduce unemployment significantly and modernize Ghana’s economy.
More details about the launch event will be shared soon. This initiative aligns with the NDC’s vision for economic revitalization before the 2024 general elections.
