PSG beat Arsenal to set up Champions League final with Inter

Arsenal’s quest for the Champions League final ended in disappointment. They lost to Paris St-Germain at Parc des Princes. The Gunners aimed to overcome a 1-0 first-leg deficit but fell short. PSG’s goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, was exceptional once again.

Donnarumma made several stunning saves early in the match. He stopped a shot from Gabriel Martinelli and then denied Martin Odegaard’s long-range effort. PSG took the lead after 27 minutes when Fabian Ruiz scored with a deflected shot.

In an exciting match, Donnarumma saved another attempt from Bukayo Saka. Arsenal’s David Raya also made a crucial save against Vitinha’s penalty kick. PSG extended their lead after 72 minutes when Achraf Hakimi scored following a mistake by Thomas Partey.

Saka finally found the net four minutes later with an angled finish. However, it wasn’t enough to spark a comeback for Arsenal. They missed opportunities, including Saka shooting over an open goal.

Despite their efforts, Arsenal left empty-handed again. Their trophy drought now extends to five years. Manager Mikel Arteta praised his players but noted they lacked “magic moments.”

Arsenal started strong but couldn’t convert their chances into goals. They faced danger from PSG’s talented attackers like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Bradley Barcola before Ruiz scored. The team struggled without a natural striker during critical moments.

As celebrations erupted at Parc des Princes, Arsenal players looked dejected. Arteta must now motivate them to secure a top-five finish in the Premier League.

PSG celebrated reaching only their second Champions League final, with Donnarumma as the star player. His earlier form raised doubts about his position, but coach Luis Enrique kept faith in him.

Donnarumma excelled throughout the knockout stages and played key roles against Liverpool and Aston Villa before facing Arsenal. PSG aims to win their first Champions League title after losing to Bayern Munich in 2020.

The team has moved on from its previous stars like Neymar and Messi to focus on teamwork and emerging talents like Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembele. They look forward to facing Inter Milan in what promises to be an exciting final.
