Woman dies after relying on ‘YESU MOGYA’ during prolonged fasting

A Ghanaian woman living in Toronto has died after weeks of intense fasting and reportedly relying only on a spiritual liquid known as ‘Yesu Mogya’—meaning ‘Jesus’ Blood.’

She was believed to be in her 30s.

For several weeks, she is said to have consumed nothing but the red-coloured liquid, thought by some to have miraculous powers.

Her body was discovered in her apartment, with signs suggesting she had been dead for days. The discovery was shared in a viral video by another Ghanaian woman, who spoke emotionally about the dangers of extreme spiritual practices. The deceased’s name has not yet been released.

The news has left the Ghanaian community in Canada in shock. Many have taken to social media and community forums to express concern and heartbreak over the loss.

In the viral video, the woman urged people to be mindful of their health when practicing faith. “Don’t let blind belief take your life,” she said.

The incident has opened up broader discussions about the rising popularity of ‘Yesu Mogya’ among Ghanaians at home and abroad, and the urgent need to balance spiritual devotion with practical health awareness.
