Just in time as we’re closer to the 2026 World Cup, adidas has unveiled the new 2026 to 2027 kits for Bafana Bafana and Banyana Banyana. The release follows the announcement of adidas as the new official kit sponsor, replacing Le Coq Sportif.
With this new deal, adidas takes over kit duties for both national teams.
The South African Football Association, SAFA, confirmed the of its five year partnership with Le Coq Sportif, which began in 2020.
Meanwhile, adidas has done this dance before, having handled SAFA kits from 1998 to 2011.
The new kit taps into nostalgia, drawing inspiration from the 2010 jersey while keeping the yellow and green as the theme colors. The jersey has been developed to meet the demands of top-level football and incorporates adidas’ latest CLIMACOOL+ technology, using engineered stretch fabrics with 3D body mapping to improve ventilation, enhance breathability and help keep players dry in high-intensity and high-temperature conditions. Perforated three-stripe panels and strategically placed mesh zones further improve airflow and comfort.
The authentic jersey also features a new lenticular heat-applied federation crest and adidas logo expression, a process that creates a unique shapeshifting appearance, adding a bold and innovative visual detail.
The SAFA away jersey design will be revealed on 19 March 2026.
The 2026/2027 home jersey will be available at adidas stores, www.adidas.co.za, as well as selected wholesale partners from 20 March 2026.
