Former Manchester United midfielder, Michael Carrick, has reached a verbal agreement with the Premier League club, to return as an interim manager.
Carrick has been picked by the Red Devils ahead of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
“Michael Carrick has accepted all conditions of Manchester United contract proposal,” football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, wrote on X on Monday evening.
“The agreement is almost done and it will be sealed THIS week, as expected.”
Carrick will take over from Ruben Amorim, who was sacked two weeks ago.
The 44-year-old’s first fixture in charge will be the Manchester Derby in Saturday’s early kick-off.
