The senator representing Osun East Senatorial District, Senator Francis Fadahunsi has assured that Nigeria will overcome the security challenges confronting it through the sustained efforts of the military and other security agencies, Senator Francis Fadahunsi has said.
Fadahunsi made this known while speaking during the flag-off of the distribution of food items and cash donations to residents across the district in Ilase on Thursday.
At the event, about 20,000 bags of rice were distributed, alongside cash support to individuals and groups drawn from the 10 local government areas in Osun East Senatorial District.
The senator said the Federal Government had continued to deploy strategies aimed at ridding the country of violent crimes and restoring peace to affected communities.
According to him, “the fight against insurgency and other forms of insecurity would be won with the cooperation and support of all stakeholders.
“I assure Nigerians that the menace of insecurity will soon become a thing of the past.
“This will happen owing to the ongoing efforts of the military and other security agencies.”
He noted that insecurity had affected the country’s ability to produce sufficient food, thereby worsening economic conditions for many citizens.
Fadahunsi explained that the distribution of rice was intended to reduce the impact of food shortages on his constituents while security operations continue.
“While expecting victory over the perpetrators of violent crimes, there is a need for governments at all levels to intensify humanitarian support to mitigate the economic hardship caused by food insecurity,” he added.
YEMMEY NEWS recalls that the lawmaker had previously spoken on insecurity in the country, calling for practical solutions and increased action by relevant authorities.
