It’s Goodbye, if not Au Revior a bientôt as….MANCHESTER UNITED SACKS MANAGER, RUBEN AMORIM…After 14 Painful Months at Old Trafford

Manchester United have reportedly sacked Ruben Amorim.

The Portuguese has left his position at Old Trafford after a nightmare 14 months in charge, with his final match a 1-1 draw away at Leeds United on Sunday.

United are currently sixth in the Premier League after finishing last season in 15th place and losing the Europa League final.

It’s reported by The Athletic that the decision was made by the club’s leadership team, including chief executive Omar Berada and director of football Jason Wilcox, following a breakdown in relations behind the scenes.

Former United midfielder and current Under-18s coach Darren Fletcher will take charge on an interim basis.

It’s said Fletcher’s first game will likely be away at Burnley on Wednesday night with a permanent appointment likely to wait until the summer.

Tensions were ramped up after the draw at Elland Road when Amorim launched a bizarre rant saying he considered himself the “manager” of United rather than the “head coach.”

“It’s going to be like this for 18 months or when the board decide to change,” Amorim said. “That was my point, I want to finish with that. I’m not going to quit. I will do my job until another guy is coming here to replace me.”
