Following its MultiChoice takeover…. Canal+ plans to merge DStv, Showmax, and Canal+ into one ‘super app’

The recent acquisition of MultiChoice by French broadcaster Canal+ is set to take streaming to the next level.

Big changes are coming to how you stream. Canal+ plans to bring all its streaming platforms, DStv Stream, Showmax, and Canal+ platforms together in one all-in-one “super app,” Business Tech reports.

With its recent takeover of MultiChoice, Canal+ now controls major platforms like DStv, GOtv, Showmax, and DStv Stream, reaching 14 million+ viewers in Africa.

Canal+ already runs its own streaming service.

So instead of using DStv Stream, Showmax, and Canal+ separately, users will get one powerful app with everything inside, including live TV, TV shows, sports, and movies.

Canal+ has already rolled out the “super app” in other countries now they’re bringing it to Africa.

Canal+ is home to an extensive library of content, with over 9,000 movies from both Europe and the U.S.
