Marriage from the onset was presented to mankind as a ‘covenant’, rather than the ‘contract’ that has become a norm, and in ways like a cankerworm has eaten deep, thus, causing problems here and there. While there is no universal percentage of married couples that cheat, infidelity is a significant issue in marriages, with studies indicating that between 25% and 60% of people will cheat at some point in their marriages, depending on how “cheating” is defined and the looked at.

This week’s episode of ‘The Real Talk Podcast’ hosted by Elizabeth Essuman and her panelists, welcome to their studio, Ghanaian relationship and marriage counselor, life coach, and motivational speaker, Counselor Kweku Adumatta; who delves into the aspect of life which a lot of people would rather want to see perish than save.
“Divorce has become rampant these days simply because marriages are seen as contracts, which breeds betrayal amongst the different reasons we hear on daily basis as to why divorce continues to spring at the least pinch.” He said.
“A lot of us from the word, ‘go’, have broken vows because we did not marry virgins. I’m sorry to say this, but it’s a lingering truth that a thriving marriage can only stand if you marry as a virgin – that’s where the covenant comes in, thus, ‘no sex before marriage’ is an order from God.” He added.

The counselor who offers advice on personal, marital, and family issues, chipped in that, “a lot of marriages make the mistakes of assumptions which lead to bitterness, and so on.”
