Streaming giant, SPOTIFY finally rolls out LOSSLESS AUDIO

One of Spotify’s most requested features is finally here. The streaming giant has started rolling out Lossless Audio to Premium subscribers in select markets, giving listeners access to the highest-quality sound the platform has ever offered.

With this new feature, subscribers can stream music in up to 24-bit/44.1 kHz FLAC, a format that preserves the fine details of original recordings. Whether it’s a brand-new release or a classic favorite, the lossless experience brings richer depth and clarity to nearly every track on Spotify’s catalog.

Premium users will receive in-app notifications once the feature becomes available to them. When activated, they can now choose between Low, Normal, High, Very High, and Lossless quality settings, offering flexibility depending on data usage and connection type.

Lossless streaming is supported on mobile, desktop, and tablet. Enabling it is straightforward: go to Settings & Privacy → Media Quality, and select where you want to use lossless audio — whether on Wi-Fi, cellular data, or downloads.

Lossless audio essentially means no information is discarded during compression, making the track sound nearly identical to the original studio recording. By contrast, standard “lossy” formats discard some data to reduce file size. For serious music fans, this rollout means a chance to experience sound closer to what artists and producers intended.

Spotify is yet to confirm when Lossless will reach all regions, but for Premium subscribers who’ve long been waiting, the wait is finally paying off.
