Trump Administration reviewing all 55M people with U.S. visas for potential Deportable Violations

The Trump administration announced on Thursday that it is now reviewing more than 55 million people who currently hold valid U.S. visas. The review aims to identify any violations that could lead to deportation, signaling an expansion of the administration’s hardline approach to immigration enforcement.

This sweeping review includes people who are legally in the United States, including those on tourist, student, and work visas.

The move is part of a broader strategy to crack down not just on undocumented individuals but also on those who have entered the country through legal channels.

Responding in writing to a query from The Associated Press, the State Department explained that all individuals holding U.S. visas—including tourists from a range of countries—are placed under ongoing scrutiny to detect any signs that could disqualify them from entering or remaining in the U.S.

If authorities discover any disqualifying information, the individual’s visa will be canceled, and if they’re already in the U.S., they could face deportation.

Since taking office, President Donald Trump’s administration has ramped up efforts to remove not only undocumented migrants but also those in the country on legal student and exchange visitor visas.

This marks an expansion of the administration’s immigration crackdown to include legal visa holders under stricter scrutiny.
