MAPISA-NQAKULA’s corruption case postponed to November

Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula won’t be heading to trial just yet. Her case has been postponed to 21 November after her lawyers said they need more time to go through the documents.

Mapisa-Nqakula, who also served as Defence Minister, is facing 12 corruption charges and one count of money laundering.

She’s accused of taking R4.5 million in bribes from contractor Nombasa Ntsondwa-Ndhlovu while serving as Defence Minister, allegedly to help secure military tenders.

Her lawyers told the court they need time to consult with her and may approach the National Director of Public Prosecutions.
