Nigerian Nurses end Strike following deal with Government

Nurses working in Nigeria’s public hospitals have called off their seven-day warning strike.

The strike, which began on July 30, was suspended on Saturday after an agreement was reached with government officials.

According to the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, authorities have now addressed their concerns.

The union said the government provided “clear timelines” for implementing the agreed terms.

However, they stressed that they will “monitor the implementation of the signed memorandum of understanding.”

The nurses had threatened to extend the strike indefinitely if their demands weren’t met.

Their core demands included increased salaries, improved working conditions, and urgent staff recruitment.
