We Present to you, the Gift that Keeps on Giving….DEMWORKS YOUTH OUTREACH

From Ghana with love, we present to you a ‘family’, one that is beyond just the word ‘foundation’; gambol and toddle with us into the world of “DemWorks”, a youth outreach run by Ms Dora Wepia Asemonu, a rising Ghanaian changemaker, strategist, and advocate for youth empowerment and gender inclusion.

DemWorks is acronym for ‘Development, Empowerment, and Mobilization Works’. This outreach is a youth-led organization dedicated to equipping young people in Ghana with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to drive positive change in their communities.

It focuses on critical areas including youth empowerment, gender inclusion, policy education, and grassroots advocacy. The organization has led impactful sensitization campaigns on drug abuse, introduced civic awareness programs in schools, and is actively working to close the gap between policy and the people it affects.

As part of its commitment to empowering Ghana’s youth through education and advocacy, the outreach recently conducted community outreach sessions at St. Kizito School in Nima and the Kanda Training Institute in Kanda.

At St. Kizito, the team engaged junior high school students in a powerful session on drug abuse awareness, helping students understand the dangers of substance use, peer pressure, and the importance of making informed life choices. The session blended open dialogue with relatable storytelling to ensure students felt seen, heard, and supported.

At Kanda Training Institute, DemWorks hosted an interactive seminar with vocational trainees, focusing on youth empowerment and drug abuse awareness. Discussions centered on how national policies affect young people, how to avoid drugs and encourage their peers to do same making them understand the need for that, and how to use vocational skills as a foundation for economic independence and leadership. To reinforce the message and encourage participation, souvenirs were distributed to attendees—reminders that they are seen, valued, and not alone in their journey.

DemWorks believes that development is most effective when young voices are informed, empowered, and mobilized — and it is on a mission to ensure that Ghana’s youth are not just seen, but heard and supported.

Whether through education, engagement, or advocacy, this outreach is building a future where young Ghanaians are equipped to lead with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
