A Welcome Development as…SCHOOLS in DRC CONGO will Welcome Pregnant STUDENTS Starting in 2026

Starting next academic year, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will let pregnant schoolgirls continue their education, according to a new directive from the Ministry of Education.

This initiative aims to fight discrimination in schools and create equal opportunities for every student.

Officials stressed that keeping pregnant girls out of classrooms worsens their vulnerability and limits their future options.

Reporting from Beni, M’molelwa Mseke Dide says reactions have been mixed.

Women’s rights groups welcomed the decision, calling it a significant step toward inclusion, while some parents and community members raised concerns over the policy’s practical application.
