The Sustainability Foundation Int, in collaboration with the Office of the Dean of Students, the Students Representative Council (SRC), and students of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), has officially launched the GIMPA Sustainability Club, a student-led initiative to foster environmental responsibility, climate resilience, and clean energy innovation across campus and its surrounding communities.
Held at the Green Climate and Environment Ecospace on GIMPA Campus, the launch event brought together high-profile dignitaries including the Dean of Students (Patron of the Club), the Chief Executive Officers of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC), faculty, student leaders, sustainability advocates, and representatives from partnering organizations.
In her keynote remarks, Prof. Augustina Akonnor, a Senior Affiliate of the Sustainability Foundation Int, and Patron of the GIMPA campus club, highlighted the strategic role of students in shaping Ghana’s environmental future. “The GIMPA Sustainability Club is more than an initiative, it is a movement. A movement to cultivate values, inspire action, and promote sustainability consciousness in every corner of our society,” she stated.
