The Ghana Para Athletics Association is working with the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana. They are organizing a Nationwide Talent Identification Exercise. This initiative aims to find and support promising para-athletes across the country.
The focus will be on track and field events. These include shot put, discus, javelin, high jump, long jump, and wheelchair racing.
They invite individuals with visual impairments, hand amputations, cerebral palsy, and other eligible conditions. Anyone with a passion for para-sports is welcome to participate.
Zone 1 starts in Kumasi on 12th July. This event will launch the program in the Ashanti region. The next event will be in Cape Coast on 26th July. The final event for Zone 1 will take place in Takoradi on 2nd August.
Zone 2 begins in Koforidua on 16th August in the Eastern Region. Next, it moves to Ho in the Volta Region on 30th August. The zone will conclude in Accra on 13th September.
