Award-winning actress, producer, and entrepreneur Juliet Ibrahim has been appointed the inaugural President of Women in Film & Television Ghana (WIFT Ghana)—a milestone moment for the country’s creative industry and a bold step forward for women in media.

Announcing the news on Instagram, Ibrahim called the appointment a “powerful moment for all women” in Ghana’s film, TV, and digital media sectors.

“This milestone is not just personal,” she wrote. “It represents all women in Ghana and across Africa’s creative industries—those breaking barriers and reshaping narratives.”

Empowering Women Through Global Networks

WIFT Ghana is now officially part of the Women in Film & Television International (WIFTI) network and affiliated with WIFT Africa, connecting local creatives to a global community of industry professionals. These affiliations will enable greater collaboration, shared resources, and enhanced opportunities for Ghanaian women in film and television.

As President, Juliet Ibrahim has pledged to champion mentorship, collaboration, and capacity-building for women in the industry. She aims to uplift emerging talent and provide meaningful opportunities for youth, storytellers, and female innovators across the country.

“I’m committed to fostering long-term impact for both emerging and established female creatives,” she stated, emphasizing her focus on empowering young women in all regions of Ghana.

A New Chapter in Leadership and Learning

This leadership role adds to Juliet Ibrahim’s growing list of achievements. She recently earned a degree in Marketing Communications from the University of California, Berkeley, reinforcing her commitment to personal growth and professional excellence.

Her appointment as WIFT Ghana’s first President signals a new era of leadership for women in Ghana’s creative sector—one built on empowerment, inclusion, and bold vision.
