Ghanaian Forward Ibrahim Mustapha Joins FK Vojvodina on Three-Year Deal
FK Vojvodina, one of Serbia’s top-flight clubs, has announced the signing of Ibrahim Mustapha, a Ghanaian forward, on a three-year contract. The 24-year-old joins from LASK in the Austrian Bundesliga, marking Vojvodina’s first signing of the summer transfer window.
The club confirmed the move on Monday, referring to Mustapha as a key addition to the squad as they prepare for the new season. Nicknamed the “Old Lady” of Serbian football, Vojvodina is looking to strengthen its attacking options, and Mustapha brings both potential and familiarity with Serbian football.
A product of Red Star Belgrade’s youth system, Mustapha began his professional career in Serbia, spending time on loan at several domestic clubs before making a move to Austria in early 2023.
However, his time at LASK was marred by injuries. His most significant setback came during the 2023/24 UEFA Europa League campaign, when he suffered a serious ankle sprain in a match against Liverpool. The injury ruled him out for 296 days and caused him to miss 29 games.
The following season brought more challenges, with recurring fitness issues forcing him to sit out an additional seven matches and spend 29 more days in recovery. As a result, Mustapha made just 10 appearances for LASK last season, scoring one goal.
Now, with a clean slate and a return to familiar territory, Mustapha is eager to reignite his career in the Serbian SuperLiga.
“I’m ready to give my all for Vojvodina,” Mustapha said after signing. “This is a chance to reset, stay healthy, and prove myself again.”
With his experience, raw talent, and determination to bounce back, FK Vojvodina will be hoping Mustapha can rediscover his form and make a strong impact in the upcoming season.
