The UK-Ghana Chamber of Commerce is honoring Julian Opuni. He is the Managing Director of Fidelity Bank. Adjoba Kyiamah, the Executive Director, highlighted him on LinkedIn.
Mr. Opuni is a Platinum Member of the UK-Ghana Chamber of Commerce (UKGCC). He also serves as an executive member of the Fidelity Bank Board.
He started at Fidelity Bank as Head of Commercial Banking. He successfully grew this unit and later managed the entire Retail Banking Directorate.
With over 26 years in financial services, he has vast experience. His expertise includes business development, credit analysis, and sales management.
Mr. Opuni is passionate about youth entrepreneurship and mentoring. Before joining Fidelity, he worked for 18 years at Lloyds Bank in the UK. He joined through their Expedited Management Training Programme.
At Lloyds, he held senior roles in Operations, Retail, Business, and Corporate Banking. He ultimately served as Senior Manager for business centres in West London.
His leadership has received significant recognition. Mr. Opuni won the Outstanding Leadership Award at the 2020 Ghana Business Awards. He was also named Best Banking CEO by International Business Magazine and Global Banking and Finance Magazine.
He holds an Associate degree from the Financial Services Institute (FSI) (AIFS). Additionally, he earned a B.Sc. in Banking & Financial Services from The University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology.
Mr. Opuni is now a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Ghana. The UKGCC supports member companies and highlights visionary leaders driving innovation in Ghana and the UK.
