I served as a househelp, slept at Kantamanto”: Nana Agradaa tells story, video

Nana Agradaa Shares Her Humble Beginnings and Journey to Success

Ghanaian preacher Nana Agradaa has opened up about her challenging journey from poverty to prominence, offering a rare glimpse into her difficult past and the resilience that shaped her rise.

In a recent video, Agradaa recounted how she left her hometown of Kwahu in search of a better life in Accra. Her early days in the capital were marked by hardship and struggle. She began as a househelp, working for a wealthy woman named Aunty Pearl in Tema, where she spent about a year cooking and cleaning.

After that period, she decided to join her husband in Kantamanto, where he worked as a head porter. With no permanent shelter, the couple often slept in an open container—a temporary refuge provided by a kind benefactor. Life in the city was far from easy, and adjusting to its demands was a daily challenge.

To support her family, Agradaa began selling second-hand clothes, a modest venture that eventually became the foundation of her financial independence. Through perseverance and determination, she rose to become the well-known priestess and public figure she is today.

Her personal life has also seen significant changes. She later divorced Pastor Eric Koranteng and is now married to another pastor, Angel Asiamah.

Agradaa’s story has sparked widespread reaction on social media, with many Ghanaians praising her resilience and transformation. Users expressed admiration for how far she has come, with some noting that her story is a reminder that everyone has a journey shaped by struggle and perseverance.

However, her life in the public eye has not been without controversy. Most recently, her ongoing feud with gospel singer Empress Gifty escalated after Agradaa mocked the artist during a church service. This follows a defamation lawsuit filed by Empress Gifty, demanding GH¢20 million in damages.
