King Promise Wins Artiste of the Year at 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards
King Promise has been crowned Artiste of the Year at the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), held on May 10, 2025, at the Grand Arena in Accra. The event celebrated the very best of Ghanaian music and entertainment with a night of electrifying performances and unforgettable moments.
The “Terminator II” hitmaker edged out strong contenders including Stonebwoy, Joe Mettle, Black Sherif, and others to clinch the prestigious title. His victory was one of the most talked-about moments of the night, both inside the venue and across social media platforms.
In an emotional acceptance speech, King Promise expressed deep gratitude to his fans and team, saying, “Thank you to my amazing team and brothers.” He also paid tribute to renowned producer KillBeatz, acknowledging his influence and mentorship in live performance.
“Thank you to my fans — the best in the world,” he added, visibly moved. King Promise went on to encourage the youth to stay committed to their dreams, sharing a powerful reflection from the early days of his career:
“My first year had seven nominations but I left with zero. While some laughed, I worked harder because I believe in God’s timing.”
The night also saw wins from standout acts such as Ayisi, Empress Gifty, Kofi Kinaata, and KiDi, each recognized for their excellence across various genres.
Gospel legend Yaw Sarpong was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his decades-long contribution to gospel music in Ghana.
